My Thoughts on How Music Has Changed Over the Years

Connor Scheil Blog 2 2/28/22   In my last post, I talked about how music has changed over the years, and in the end, I started to get into how technology is one of the big main reasons music has changed so much. In this post, I will be talking about that more. Like I said in the last post,    It can open a lot of doors to so many new sounds and effects that were never available in the past. One thing that is being done now that could have never been done in the past is sample manipulations. Because of technology, this has become very popular in modern music. It is basically taking a sample and manipulating it into something brand new and something that no one has ever heard before. Another thing that is pretty popular because of technology is the use of digital effects and digital amps for guitars and other instruments. Connor Scheil Blog 1 2/11/22  Over the years music has changed a lot. I believe that this can be seen as a good thing and also a bad  thing. In the past, I feel like the genres were more separate than how they are today. Today I feel like they  are just all blended together in most songs with some exceptions here and there. In my personal opinion, I  don't feel like modern music is as powerful as the music produced before the 2000s. Yes, there are some  that can be lyrically powerful and can definitely have an impact, but comparing these songs to the songs  produced 20+ years ago, I feel like the guitars, drums, bass, keyboards, etc, just make the songs even  more  powerful and emotional. It also just shows how much time went into producing these songs. I'm not  saying people don't take time and really try to produce quality music now, but it is definitely a lot easier  now compared to back then. Technology has for sure played a big role...
